DRAMATURGICAL RESOURCES

Vocab & References:
What's that line mean?

Welcome to your source for figuring out just what all those British references, allusions, and slang words are all about!

A few important notes before you dive in:

* These pages are MUCH more easily read/navigated on a desktop/laptop than on a phone. Sorry. I really did try to optimize for mobile, but there's just SO MUCH info here, that trying to find it all via a tiny screen will likely prove aggravating. That said, the page should work on any device.

* The guide is broken up by scene--there are links to all the scenes below and at the bottom of each of the individual scene pages.

* One of the trickiest parts of creating a guide like this is deciding what to include. What may be an obvious definition to one person may be completely foreign to the next. In the event that I've failed to explain something that you're confused about, please try a quick google search first (most of the basic slang vocab I didn't know was able to be found in less than a minute). THAT SAID, if you run into something that a quick, basic search doesn't answer for you, please feel free to contact me, either via the comment box on this site or at sefel.1@osu.edu

* Please never forget -- I am your dramaturg, not your director. If the director has given you a meaning, a motivation, or any other direction that conflicts with the info I've given here, the DIRECTOR always wins.

* Finally, while I've done my very best to provide you with useful info, there are some listings in which I've given it my best shot, but can't guarantee they are absolutely correct. Whenever this is the case, I always list this fact. That said, if there's ever anything in this guide that you think is unclear or that you have an alternative explanation for, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Enjoy!
