Act Two, Scene Four
What's that line mean?
Act Two, Scene Four
Pg 89 – Dangle - "Atrabilious"
"full of black bile" -- i.e., bad-tempered, though more in a dark Hamlet way than in a violent Tybalt fashion.
Pg 90 – Alan - "Turn! Hell hound! Turn!"
Like most of Alan's lines, this is a quotation from Shakespeare--this time, Macduff's challenge to Macbeth in Act Five (though it's worth noting that, based on the punctuation, his delivery is a bit more extreme [read "amateur"] than the printed "Turn, Hell-hound, Turn!")
